The Delta Blues Boys

デルタ ブルース ボーイズは古き良き時代のアメリカンサウンドのルーツを、ロバート･ジョンソンやサン･ハウスなどミシシッピ･デルタ･ブルースに見いだし、20年ほど前から活動。Country Joeでは2004年以来、偶数月の第2金曜日を定例に演奏している。戦前ブルースを忠実に再現するアコースティックなボトルネック奏法が持ち味だが、そこにロックスピリットに富んだエレキギターやマンドリン、ベースが加わることで、ノリの良いサウンドが生まれる。ブルースを愛しつつも偏屈にこだらず、その幅広い影響下にあるロックやフォークの名曲を自在に取り込むことで、楽しくも思わずホッするような雰囲気をつねに心がけている。

The Delta Blues Boys play American roots music, especially the songs of Mississippi Delta Blues icons such as Robert Johnson and Son House. Their forte is the old prewar Blues and the distinctive raw sound of the acoustic bottleneck. They also blend modern rock guitar, mandolin and bass into their repertoire and explore a wide range of soul-stirring music influenced by the blues: rock, folk and jazz. The Delta Blues Boys have been regularly performing at Country Joe since 2004. You can catch them on the second Friday of every even-numbered month.
